CRUEL LOVE: CHAPTER THREE [ THE CLUE ]

Gia is preparing breakfast.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning, babe. Today let me send you to the café.”

“Mm...sure.”

Joel dropped Gia in front of the café. He just drove away five meters from the café, he saw Ethan and a girl at Gia’s café.

Ethan greeted Gia as he opened the door.

“Hi Gia.”

“Hi Ethan and hi Emery. It's good to see you again.” Gia greeted Ethan's little sister excitedly.

“Hi Gia. I miss you.”

Both of them hugged friendly.

“What are you guys doing here?”

“Breakfast and to see you.”

Gia used to be very closed with Emery and always hang out together even without Ethan.

Gia closed the café and locked the door. Meanwhile, Joel was waiting for her in his car.

“I saw Ethan and a girl this morning. Why are they here and who's that girl?” Joel tried to figure out what had happened.

“Oh...they came here for breakfast and that girl is Ethan's little sister.” Gia answered calmly.

They just arrived at their house.

Then, their neighbor, Aunt Melana went towards them. They greeted each other.

Aunt Melana needed to go somewhere for three days, So she asked Gia look over her pets.

Gia agreed.

The next day, Gia went to Aunt Melana's house to feed the cat. She poured the cat's food into its container. She patted the cat softly.

Auchh! Gia screamed as the cat scratched her hand. Gia went back to her house. Joel saw Gia's hand was bleeding. He asked her what had happened. She told that the cat scratched her but it was okay. Joel took the emergency kit and put some ointment on her hand.

After a while, Gia went sleeping but suddenly she heard a weird noise. Then she realised that Joel was not beside her. She went to the balcony and saw someone at Aunt Melana's house. He looked like Joel and seemed suspicious. Gia went back to her bed.

The next morning, Gia went to feed the cat. She decided to take a day off and let Sarah handle the café today. After Joel went out for work, Gia went to Aunt Melana's house. Gia saw the cat was in not in the cage. She was panicked and tried to call the cat but there was no answer. She went to the backyard. 

She smelled something bad and followed the smell. It led her to a big tree. She saw the cat was dead and looked awful. The legs were cut and its neck was twisted. That was the most horrible thing she has ever seen in her life.

She was shocked and didn’t know what to do. She called Aunt Melana to tell her what had happened. Aunt Melana was so dejected but couldn't go home. She asked Gia to bury the cat.

After that, Gia went home. She took a shower and thought about what had happened. She couldn’t imagine if Joel did that.
