Today is Gia's big day.
She is getting married to her love, Joel. They have been together for a year.
While Gia is getting her make up done, a flashback of a memory came up through
her mind. The memory of how they met. It wasn't a beautiful memory because they
met by a coincidence.
2016
It was seven in the
morning. Gia was on her way to get on subway to her workplace. She owned a
small café. It is called Tea Time Café. They sell various type of desserts, tea
and coffee. The café has been operated for six years.
Gia has a car but
that day it was not in a good condition, so she decided to take subway.
“Hey miss”. A man was
calling someone.
“Yes. Are you calling
me sir?” Gia asked.
“This thing, I think
it's yours”. The man handed Gia a
bracelet.
“Oh yeah. It's mine.
Maybe it fell out from my bag while I'm taking my purse out. Thanks”.
“Most welcome”.
Gia rushed into the
subway.
Gia was standing in
front of her café and took out the door's key. Then she went into her small
office. She put down her bag and wore an apron.
“Good morning Gia.”
Sarah, Mya and Tom greeted their boss.
Besides Gia, there
are three more employees that worked under Gia. Sarah and Mya do work in the
kitchen. Tom will help Gia at the counter to make drinks and serve the
customer.
Customer start visiting
the café at eight in the morning and their busiest time is at five to six in
the evening.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
The doors keep open
and close. That means the customer started to come in.
“May I have a regular
espresso and apple pie please?” A young looking girl ordered.
“Tom one regular
espresso...and what size apple pie do you want miss?”
“Mmm... A small size
one.”
Gia started to pack
the order and put on the counter.
“Six dollar and fifty
cent please.”
The girl paid and
took the food away. A man slowly approached the counter and ordered a small cup
cappuccino and special French toast. Gia put the order on a sticky note and put
at his table number.
Gia served the man's
order.
“Here’s your special French
toast and cappuccino. Enjoy your food sir”
Gia turned back and
walked away but the man suddenly called her.
“Miss don't you
remember me. I'm the guy that helped you picked up your things at the subway”.
“Oh yes. I'm sorry.
I'm bad at recognising people I first met.”
“Oh it's okay. So you
work here.”
“Yeah. I own this
café.”
The man raised his
eyebrows.
“Oh... I might be
regular customer after this. By the way I'm Joel Reynald.”
“Haha...I'm Gia
Hilder. Excuse me Mr. Reynald, I'm kind of busy right now. I need to go. Nice
to meet you and enjoy your food.”
Gia walked away.
For a month, Joel
kept coming to Gia's café and asked her for a date. Because of his endless
passion, hard work and interest to Gia. She finally accepted Joel into her
life.
