Room No. 9 (PART 2)

Stepping out of her hostel, she looked up the sky with white, almost candy cotton candy-like clouds. It wasn't too bright not too dreary. Birds chirping and flying across the wide sky. Olive walked in slow pace, breathing in the fresh morning air. It's a bit hotter than usual since it's summer.

She kept on walking until she arrived at her favourite cafe. It's her morning routine to get her daily dose there. The vintage-looking cafe got her attention the very first time she got there.

She opened the cafe door. The bell on top of the door rang, indicating someone had just entered. The workers looked and greeted Olive with a smile. Olive had become one of their regular customers which made them closer day to day. They even gave her a discount sometimes.

Well, privileged of being humble and talkative. She stood in front of the counter and ordered,

"Can I get - ..."

"Classic hot chocolate and two pretzels." Belle, a cute petite girl with blonde hair cut her off with a bright smile adorning her face.

She's the cafe owner, as well as the second person Olive was closer with after Emily. Olive smiled and nodded.

It's always the same everyday. "Don't you get bored?" Belle asked while proceeding on making the cocoa drink.

"Nah. It makes me calm. Besides, your cafe has the best pretzel in town." Olive answered while watching her already-a-week friend making her order.

Belle laughed.

"Thank you and please wait at the table. I'll be there in a minute. Let's get breakfast together."

Olive nodded and did as said.

She went to sit at the table near the transparent glass-made wall. While waiting for Belle to come, she thought about the dream. Heaving a big sigh, she stared at space while frowning hard.

"Hey, what's with the frowning? It's just 10 in the morning. Why?" Her thought was cut by Belle once again. The girl was standing in front of her holding a tray with her order and hers as well. Belle placed the tray on the table, took a seat across Olive.

"Is something bothering you?"

Olive just kept quiet. She was hesitating on telling Belle about the nightmare. After all, they have just been friends for a week. What if she'd shrug it off like it's nothing? Olive knew this ain't for nothing. That dream might indicate something as if there was a hidden message waiting to be unlocked.

"Olive? Hey! Earth to Olivia!"

Belle called when she seemed to lost in her thought. Olve lifted her head to look at Belle. She bit her lips, still wondering if she should tell her friend.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Belle asked while eating her pancake.

"Yeah. No? Well, to be honest, I don't know if I'm fine or not. It's just too many things in my head right now." Olive confessed while stirring her hot chocolate drink.

"Why don't you tell me? We are friends. And friends share their problems. Come on, tell me."

Belle muttered. Olive could see the sincerity in her blue orbs. Somehow just by seeing that, Olive finally opened her mouth and told her what had been bugging her this past seven days. Just in the middle of the story though, Belle cut her. She was shocked.

"Wait! Which room do you stay again? No. 9? Room No. 9?"

"Y-yeah, why?". Olive stuttered, wondering why the girl in front of her looked shocked and terrified after she mentioned her room's number. And that was when her mind clicked. something's going on with the room she was staying currently.

"You don't know the infamous Room Ni. 9 story, do you?. It was used to be talked about of the town years ago. Which is why when you told me the nightmare that had been haunting you this past seven days, I'm quite shocked. I thought they don't let the students use that room anymore. "

Belle explained and made Olive speechless. She could feel a dry lump formed her throat. She swallowed before speaking.

"Why? What had happened actually?"

Olive asked, feeling betrayed. Their breakfast was forgotten. At that moment, Olive's mind was indescribably a complete mess. She couldn't think about anything else but her mysterious room. She didn't remember being warned by the head of administration. Heck, he even said to 'have fun'.

WHAT? A new way to say 'Be careful'?. Olive was mentally tortured. Belle cleared her throat before starting.

"Years ago, there was a girl named Alice stayed in that room. I heard they said she was a really nice and cheerful girl. She was so good at studying and one of the top students in this college. "
